Meaning and purposes:
A distribution channel is the chain of a business or an intermediary through a product or service passes until it reaches the end consumer. A distribution channel includes wholesalers, retailers, distributors and even the internet.
The website Amazon launched a subscription service with Conde Nast in 2013. Conde Nast International Publishing Group indicated that co-operating with Amazon make it easier for readers to subscribe to Vogue. Some people in the industry believes that it is declining the circulation of the magazine. Readers valuing information is also a very important driving force in the partnership. Under the agreement between Conde Nast and Amazon, Amazon.com will Conde Nast International Publishing Group provide offers subscribers user information.
After adding Amazon subscription channels, Conde Nast magazine sites, mobile terminal, direct mail and other sales channels still exist, consumers will also be available on Kindle Fire, iPad, other tablet PCs, smartphones for reading Conde Nast's magazines. The reason why the magazine (paper version) has not disappeared because some people would still like to flip-over a magazine while they are drinking a coffee, or having their hair done in the salon, and reading on phones and tablets could harm your eye site overtime.
Vogue also has other distribution channels such as supermarkets (Sainsbury, Tesco, etc..,). They are also sold in some department stores (M&S, Selfridges, etc...).
